I've got an Asus WL500g (Its an amazing router, capable of doing what the new Airport Extreme can do) and I can enable 'Afterburner' which will give me 125mbps 802.11g.

Does anyone know if the new Airport cards can do 125mbps 802.11g?

i doubt it.
if you're talking about that buffalo router, i think you need extra stuff tomake it run at that speed.

if you have the new iMac with 11n cards, i recommend the Belkin N1, $110, router, which has the 802.11n protocol, which has much better range and speed that 54mbps g protocol.
is it faster than 125 mbps g protocol? not sure

anyway, i've been using it and voila! it works exactly like its supposed to.
unlike that awful linksys router i had.

No its not a buffalo router, its an Asus WL500g with custom firmware.

I'll have to do some more research I think.
