I know you're all like me: you listen to a ton of music and try to keep up to date on all the new releases your favorite artists are putting out, but sometimes there's just so many that a few slip under the radar and you find yourself on the iTS, coming upon a new album, and saying, "When the $#%@ did [insert artist here] release this?!"

So list what you're excited about and maybe we can all learn about a release we didn't know about from each other.

Bright Eyes "Four Winds - EP"
Bright Eyes "Cassadaga"
The Academy Is... "Chop Chop"
Thrice "The Elements"

Daniel.

Anything by Poe, she has not released anything since 2000 because of a contract dispute with Sony. Supposedly it ended 2007 and she is working on a new album.

Thrice "The Elements"
Daniel.
I didn't know Thrice was coming out with a new album! I'm certainly excited for that, but i really hope it is much better than "Vheissu," that album was such a disappointment! I really hope they bring back their sound like "Artist In The Ambulance," that was my favorite album by them, one of my favorites ever in fact.

Other albums:

-The Shins' new album
-new Kenna album ("Face" ???)
-"Lucky You" soundtrack (new Bob Dylan song it called "Huck's Theme")

I'll think of some more later, that's what i got right now :)

Definitely Bloc Party! The Good, the Bad and the Queen has already been released and I really like it. Hmm, the Klaxons album is out on Monday I think. Hopefully the Maccabees will release an albulm. Maybe even a new Yeah Yeah Yeahs...

If i'm really lucky, Coxon will rejoin Blur and there'll be another one of those ;)

I'm listening to Of Montreal's 'Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?' and it's brilliant. I'm psyched for new Radiohead and Fountains of Wayne, too. I'm on the fence about Thrice. I really, really enjoyed 'The Artist in the Ambulance' but 'Vheissu' was a huge letdown.

Lyrically, it's uncharacteristically dark and personal, which is why it's such an impressive album. I really like 'Satanic Panic in the Attic' and 'The Sunlandic Twins', but this one is on a level of its own by virtue of being fun AND meaningful.

Well, the Shins album is already awesome (and was for the three months I was listening to it before it came out). So is the Arcade Fire's new one, "Neon Bible" (comes out March 23rd).

Beyond that, I'm hoping the new Massive Attack and AIR CDs will be cool. Jimmy Eat World is putting out a new one, as is Filter (hopefully). There are rumblings that Portishead is working on new material. My favorite band ever, Sigur Rós, is back in the studio, but that album probably won't come out this year. Enon is working on a new one as well, which is exciting for all eighty people that listen to them (check out "High Society" if you've never heard of Enon, it's a great record).

There are a couple others escaping my mind at the moment. But there are a lot of CDs coming out this year from acts I like. It's exciting.

EDIT: Oh yeah, Postal service and Modest Mouse too. Wow. So much stuff.

I went to three stores and none of them had it. My luck... Satanic panic in the Attic, in addition to having one of the best names ever, is my personal favorite. It's certainly fun to listen to.

Anyway, I was able to pick up the new Norah Jones Album, which I've been quite fond of so far. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah's second album is pretty good... I liked their first one better overall, but a few of the songs on the newer one are quite good. The Shin's new album is just as good as I thought it would be.

I've actually heard it's going to be very spare and minimal. The live tracks I've heard seem to back that up.

I might pick up the new Arcade Fire album, although I was only so-so on their debut.

How can you be so-so on the best album of 2004? ;)

It was a slow burner for me, but I absolutely love it now. I think "Funeral" is one of those records that either resonates for you personally and you go "...wow " or it doesn't and you end up wondering why everyone loves it so much.

I've been listening to "Hats Off To The Buskers" by The View for a little over a week now, and after looking forward to it for a couple of months it gets a resounding meh. Yet another band who want to sound like The Libertines. *Yawn*

So it's over to Norah Jones and Arcade Fire to set my 2007 'music fire' alight. I have very, very high hopes for these two albums.

I don't dislike it, but I always had trouble swallowing 'Laika'. I think that song tainted my experience with the album. Heh.

It's odd, because I tend to like that sort of oddball indie pop (I enjoyed the hell out of Wolf Parade and Islands, for example). I dunno. I'm sure I'll end up checking out their new one anyway.

You guys should pick up 'Friend and Foe' by Menomena. I've been quite liking it.

I'm quite looking forward to Annie (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_Lilia_Berge_Strand)'s new album. Xenomania, Richard X, Alan Braxe, Timo Kaukolampi, and Greg Kurstin are all doing songs for the album, so obviously I'm quite "pumped" for it. Also, Brian Higgins is the executive producer on the album, much like Stuart Price on Madonna's latest album. Girls Aloud's album is sure to be good. I really wonder about Britney's though; it could be either very good or very bad.

Any new Arcade Fire and Postal Service

A new Postal Service album would be nice. I'm really curious to see if they can match the wide appeal and overall good quality of Give Up.

More than that, though, I'm hoping to see a new Avalanches album. It has been entirely too long since Since I Left you.

On top of that, I'm looking for the new National album (Boxer), and the new Iron & Wine album (The Shepard's dog).

The next album from Girls Aloud.

It's been a two year wait from 2005's Chemistry, 2004's What Will The Neighbours Say? and 2003's breakthrough album, Sound of the Underground. A two year wait is two years too long for any Girls Aloud fan.

Guns n' Roses' Chinese Democracy

I had no idea that the postal service was releasing any more albums! I thought it was just a one off thing and that the band split after making the album since it was a combination of Death Cab members and dntel. Postal Service would be great as well as Maroon 5's new "It Won't Be Soon Before Long."
