Desktop Remote Control?

Just looking for opinions and ideas...

I want to use my G3PB as a remote control for my G4 Tower which has all my music and plays through my stereo.

So I know Timbuktu, there's Apple remote desktop, that seems like more then I need for two machines and an iTunes remote control.

Anybody have some other options, solutions, or suggestions?

There is rumors of additional multiple users in 10.3 but that sounds mostly like thin client stuff.
