Help, my sound is messed up.

emac 1.42Ghz.

I just tried to play a VDV and the sound through the headphones plugged into the headphone jack was crap, I thought it might be the cans but the internal speakers were crap too. I checked something through iTunes and that was also buggered.

I tried the same iTunes song through my monitors connected via firewire through a soundcard and that was OK.

What does this mean?

It's OK I found the problem.

I had a streaming audio open and minimised to the dock. The program had finished and was playing no sound but it was causing the problem. I only found it because the station finally decided to emit a warning tone.
