Apple TV - use as capture device ?

Do you know if the new Apple TV box that ships in feb can be used as a capturing device so you can take footage off a connected dvd/vcr/dvr and then send it over to your Mac ?

or is it just one direction: mac to the apple tv box ?

I'm fairly sure it's just one direction. It's got only video-out ports.
