F1 - F12 Software Features Keyboard Shortcut

Is there a keyboard shortcut (Or a method of creating one) for the ability to toggle whether I want F1 - F12 to be software or hardware functions? (If you're not sure what this option is, go to System Pref -> Keyboard & Mouse -> Keyboard

Yes. Once you get to the keyboard preferences there's a box to select that will enable use for software features.

Yes I know, but what I'm asking is if there's a keyboard shortcut for that so that I don't have to keep going into System Pref everytime I want to change it.

Hmm, not sure about that one. Look at creating Keyboard Shortcuts. I'm not as familiar with making your own, but it may be possible. Maybe use the Help feature to see what comes up?

i don't think so. i think that's why the fn key was created.
