Tell us something we don't know, Apple stuff has always been overpriced over here.

I nominate this as the silliest story of the week, so far.

First, the U.S. dollar is near recent historical lows against the pound, which naturally increases the apparent dollar price of items priced in this currency. Second, the price they used to calculate the iPod's U.K. price in U.S. dollars included VAT, even though the U.S. price is advertised without sales tax, which most people in the U.S. pay at the point of sale. The U.K. price exclusive of VAT in U.S. dollars is $166. So even with the weak dollar, the price is almost the same. If the exchange rates were closer to recent historical averages, they would be virtually identical.

I agree. The constant 'rip-off Britain' stories are always misleading.
