How should I go about this? I need to wipe the HD clean before I ship out my PowerBook. I have my Tiger DVD. Should I reinstall Tiger and choose the "Erase and Install" option?

put install disk, look in the top menu for Disk Utility, select your PowerBook's drive, click Erase, then Security Options. Depending on how important the information on the drive was, you might only want to do the 7-pass erase. If there was some really important stuff which you don't want anyone else to see, do the 35-pass erase 🙂

Dude, read my initial thread. I knew I HAD to wipe it somehow, I just wasn't sure what the best way was. I knew using the Tiger DVD was one option, but I thought maybe there was a better way to do it thus I started this thread.

I have used the PPC ver before fine, if you have a intel cpu get the i386.iso. You will have to have the bios emulation (boot camp? i think is the name) stuff if you run the i386. however, if you got a good old ppc, just put in the disc and boot. it will load a small linux kernel with a menu.
You have the options of 3,5,7,30 or so passes to wipe your hd. I don't remember the exact numbers.
