Oh, the good ol' days-where I could actually beat the games I buy because I had the time and nothing else mattered....

Wow

Who would've thought a Mario video could be so poignant, astute and emotional?

I beg to differ. What a random way to end that. It made me lol. Not about Hitler and all that jazz, but how they try to tie it in. Good god.

Well done video, but I seem to really dislike that song.

Backwards Mario gets existential, and even a bit of perspective. Nice and all, vaguely evocative, etc. But yeah. Somebody's gotta step up and just strangle modernism. If we really loved nouns, Mario would be a sidewalk, anyways.

Yeah. And that ending. Evocative is powerful, preaching makes me want to hit you (not you, you I love) in the head with a mallet.

Yes. That's preachy.

Fine.

OK but..

They spend all that time creating the sprites & extra screens and then ruin it by slapping on a crappy poorly lipsyncing mouth

That was very touching when that goomba spared mario's life...but then ended up being killed for treason...

It's a shame they ended the flash trying to hit a 'serious note' - it just doesn't work when you've sat and watched an animation featuring Mario. Imagine watching South Park and then being broadcast a message by Mr/Mrs Garrison concerning global warming - it somewhat demeans the message, no?
