Hi a another newbie here from the windows world. Really basic question - how do I add websites to the dock? I use to be able to do this with objectdock in winXP. Not a major problem if it can't be done. Also am I right in thinking that safari on going back to a previously viewed page jumps to where you last scrolled on it? Rather odd to get use to but a great idea.

I find Bookmarks more usable than adding pages to the dock, but to each their own. To add a page to the dock, drag the little image from the address bar to the portion of the dock right next to the trash can. When the dock moves a little, you'll know you are there. Let it go and you get a nice spring.

Does it really have to be next to the trash can i always thought you could drag it by the regular icons?

I'm on my linux box, so I can't check. But I'm pretty sure it cannot mingle with the app icons.

Applications always go on the left, other documents/trash/minimized windows on the right.

Actually I think every browser outside of Internet Explorer does that, doesn't it? At least, Firefox does it also.
Anyway, welcome to the gang!
In terms of the left side of the dock, if you add a folder there, another handy thing to know is that you can hold the mouse button on it or right click and you will get the folder contents as a pop-up. Like this:

Or Apps go to the top and everything else on the bottom. ;)
