I just wanted to know how you like my new site. You can check it out here (http://tominatedsoftware.com). Sorry, but IE5.5 to IE6 don't render it properly. Just to let you know, it was made in rapidweaver. Tominated.
PS. I finally got my own domain and a paid host!:D

Looks very good, top job.
May I ask what Rapid Weaver Theme and what host are you using?
My only recommendation is to add more information about your products. I.e. sell your web broswer better, look at the major browsers for example :)

2/3 of the screen real estate is used to display the menu and essentially the title... only the bottom third has actual "useful" information.
It looks good, but I'm not sure if I like it for that sole reason. :)

I like the colors and simple layout. Agree with the above poster about how much real estate you have dedicated to the logo and nav.
Also, it seemed like it took me too many clicks to get anywhere.

Thanks for the comments! the theme is called PosterJay and is free. I will be removing the products section and just have the rapidwaever themes and tominated browser (i had it as a menu for another theme). I like the design of having a big logo and nav, it is supposed to look a bit like a poster.

Yeah, but on a small MB screen, it means scroll, scroll, scroll...

If i where you i wouldnt use a premade (oh well, not premade but its not good to alter an existing tutorial made logo as your main logo) logo if you planning on being serious with your products.
Apart from that it looks good.

Or did u make the tutorial itself? Or did the one who made the tutorial rip you off?

Do you know we can access your stats through the shinyStat logo at the bottom?
I don't allow visitors to see my sites stats.

The first thing that struck me is that it resized my browser window to fill my screen. I hate this. It's bad enough if it's some fancy flash design site that has to be viewed at 1024x768, but for a software site there's no need to fill my screen with it. I usually close sites that do things like straight off.

I have never seen that tutorial. I don't really mind if people see my stats. I don't want to change the rapidweaver theme (i really dig it). I'll see if i can make it not resize the window, or did you have to to make it fit?

No, I usually have my browser window at roughly 800x600, and when I clicked on the link the new window filled my screen automatically. I think it's fairly easy to switch off though. :)

Easy to navigate, not busy (which I hate with websites these days, they have so much stuff everywhere it gives you a headache).

Hello,
You're the only other website that I have seen use this type of search box besides apple.com. I have been dying to know how to implement such a search box. Can you point me into the right direction?

For some reason the site loads slow, but otherwise it looks nice.

How do you put a custom logo into that theme, like your tominated? I really dig it, but the only way I can get it to show my logo is by editing the html, please could you tell me if there is an easier way. My site is at http://p3t3r.co.uk

...Sorry, but IE5.5 to IE6 don't render it properly...
That's because you are using transparent PNG files, which IE 6 and below can't deal with on their own. This site shows you a fix that will let you use transparent PNG files in IE:

site's nice and clean, but I'm astonished by the browser! It really is incredibly fast and uses like no CPU or RAM! granted, safari is much more full featured, but I'll use yours whenever I'm running Lightroom, Bridge, Photoshop, Photomatix, ImageWell, and all of my other photo apps at once! With tabbed browsing and an open plug in architecture, Tominated could become my daily browser!
BTW, how do you get it to look so cool? I love the simple UI!

you understand that this is a theme, right? he did not do anything but put his logo in and add some content. so he did not do anything to make it look simple and elegant at all. no more than this guy did (http://homepage.mac.com/jayrunquist/posterjay/index.html).
sorry, but asking for a critique of a premade theme is a waste of time at best.

<input type="search" placeholder="" autosave="" results=""/>
webcore specifically uses these to get that effect, but only works with webcore and doesn't validate. personally i use it... also macupdate does. more info here (http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/hyatt/archives/2004_07.html#005890).

Please re-read this thread, it has been mentioned this is not truly a web design critique, but more of a usability critique.
if you didnt design the site, you cant ask for feedback on it.
