I just purchased a 24" iMac and I would like to know how I can transfer all my music and movies from my laptop(XP) to my new Apple.
I would just burn them but my burner is broken and I dont have the money to get a new one.
Any ideas?:)

If you turn on file sharing on the windows, you can connect the two by ethernet, this is what I did. Go to networks in your mac's finder, and your PC should show up with all its stuff (porn)

Where do I turn on file sharing?
And do I just drag and drop the file that I want?

First, make sure they both actually have a connection to your network.
On the XP machine, right-click on the folder you want and select Sharing and Security. You should be able to find your way from there to enabling sharing.
Then on the Mac, click the Go menu in Finder and select Connect to Server. Enter "smb://your.windows.computer.ip" in the connect box (obviously replacing that text with your Windows computer's IP address). That should be it. If you need more help, just say where you're getting stuck.

There's many ways to find the computer's IP. I like the command line, so this is what I do.
Open up a command window. Type "ipconfig". There's a lot of numbers on there, but get the number next "IP Address".
There's another way in case you don't like the command line or you don't know what that is.
In the "Network Connections" window, there's a list of connections. Pick the one that you're using. Right click on it and select "Status". Go to the "Support" tab. Your IP address is listed there as well.

Yes, that's within the Windows machine to find its IP address. Take that and follow the previous instructions.
