Click to expand... no. but you can make a .dmg of your system to restore from. you can also make another drive bootable with your system on it.

Click to expand... Actually, you can make a backup of the OS X install DVD. It can be done using Disk Utility. Let me know if you want the exact steps.

L live4ever macrumors 6502a Jan 27, 2007 #4 Yes, I use Toast in disc copy mode - works great (I always keep a burned copy on me when I travel).
Nermal Moderator Staff member Jan 27, 2007 #5 There are two DVDs. The first one is computer-specific and is single layer and can be backed up easily. The second is generic but is double layer. You will need DL media to back that one up.
