View Full Version : Photoshop 8 & Illustrator 11 when?

I was wondering if anyone heard when photoshop 8 and illustrator 11 not to mention indesign 3 were going to come out
or what new features they are supposedly to include.

i love new software!

no for illustrator,
but a reseller told me photoshop 8 would come out like in the end of the year

My money would be on illustrator 11 by the end of the summer

I have used the Illustrator 11 beta and It should be out before Photoshop 8, next couple months probably. With Illustrator 11 there is going to be some nice speed improvements compared to version 9 and 10 which were really slow at times.

speed improvements.. thats it.. hmmm that'll be a hard sell

upgrade to illustrator 11.. it cant do more but i can do the same faster!

When I first saw this I was asking myself what would really be needed in an upgrade. I skipped quite a few over the years since they haven't all been that big of a deal. But, honestly, if a speed improvement is available that would be fantastic - especially Illustrator.

I just hope they don't rearrange the tools *again*....

wasnt there something about adobe not supporting apple with photoshop 8 a while back, or was that just crap? (probably as that would be an unbeleievebly bad move for adobe) Something to do with apple stepping on adobes toes with premiere and their iphoto equivalent.

i think it was adobes bid to try to force apple to get faster machines...:)

no, adobe is not developing for OS 9.x anymore. all apps will be OSX from here on out. they're not dropping development for macs....that would be pretty weird.

from what i've heard... PS 7.5 will be relatively soon. perhaps PS 8 around year's end.

i read somewhere that photoshop 8 would literally be released in the fall, along side exciting news from both microsoft and apple. I have no idea where i read it and cant find it. So take it for what its worth.

Really, PS 7.5? Do you have some insider sources or something? I haven't heard of any 7.x update before the new version of 8 later this year.

my memory could be bad... but yeah, i'm pretty sure it was 7.5. someone i know who's in a beta program for after effects and knew some stuff about PS as well.

apparently, they're going to make filters more like AE effects... so that instead of applying them and being done, you can tweak them as you go... that's all i heard though.
