Whats with the survey on the front page, I took it but what are you using that for man...?

Besides that it had my IP in the http... it asked some personal questions (joking).

BTW, I can't believe the 'how long do you spend on this site' question only goes to 60 min and up!

I have a very high number above that!

It's a site survey to gather data for an advertising network that the site is a part of. Basically, it should (theoretically) help sell site-specific ads.

The data is simply used in aggregate... so no individual information is retained. Just totals.

Thanks for paricipiating. :)

Well, thanks for pointing it out as I only look at the front page maybe once a week I would have missed it without specifically looking for it.

You post like 15 times daily/average and you can't check the front, what a shame. ;)

Why should I look at the front I look at the most frequently posted threads about a hundred times a day. I have a link right in my bookmarks bar that I click and it gives me the most recent posts. By doing that I see all the topics that ever make it to the front page and more.

Where it said "do you use MacRumors to help you make purchase decisions" I said "yes."

As if I ever buy new "Macintoshes"!

MUWAHAHAHAHAHA...ha......ha..........WAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..... :(

Agreed. Most definitely not. They are a way of communicating ideas back and forth which is not what chat is primarily used for. Chat is usually much too fast to take the time to think of and to research an idea before communicating it.

I took the survey, it was very simple. It is the very least I can do, this site is absolutely wonderful. :)

I participated in the survey.
And now, when I come to Macrumors' front page, I see ONLY ads of MSN for Mac OS X... I wish I didn't take part... :)

the msn ads and the survey were unrelated. :)

There is (finally) a new contributer's mug as well as a new Paypal subscription option.

I'll post an official announcement later on.

Was I the first to use the PayPal option? I didn't realize it was new...

If you don't like the mug don't get it just do the PayPal contribution method. If you really like the site there is no better way to help out then to contribute.
