Apple's New Airport Extreme Base Station - Shipping

Just checked the UK site and ship time has switched from Feb to 3-4 weeks.
was wondering, is it worth ordering it or will it be in retail stores faster?
I'm in manchester, we have 3 apple stores, wondering if it'll get to one of those faster than online?
 
Just got this

Apple today began shipping our new AirPort Extreme Base Station (802.11n). We are delighted to tell you that we plan to ship your AirPort Extreme Base Station (802.11n) 1 week earlier than we had anticipated. We now plan to ship your product on or before Wednesday, February 21st. No action on your part is required.

I wonder if they have actually begun shipping maybe USA first, Europe to follow ? Hence we've still got 3 weeks...

So, Apple began shipping three weeks from now? I think somebody at Apple is having trouble with their verb tenses!
 
Good news I guess...but shipping on Feb 21 is different then Now..hopefully :apple: TV will should earlier then the current Feb 28 ship date!
 
just got the email also, but Feb 14th! cool!

Thats awesome, I got the Feb. 14 email and on my order status it now says:
Ships on Feb. 14th and Delivers on Feb 15.............thats nice........way to go Apple.
 
Amazon doesn't even have a listing for the new Airport Base Station, so it can't even be preordered from them for some reason.
 
so is this basestation supposed to fix the issue with the base station getting knocked offline by cell phones? When you guys get them, let me know if you have any problems with it before I get one.

😕 Cordless phones I understand since they mostly share the same 2.4 GHz spectrum, but cell phones? I don't get it.

We had to pull some apple airports out of some high school's because the kids would have cell phones that when they would ring the airport would go offline and need to be restarted. Not sure if it was a common problem, but we had that problem in more than one school so we replaced them with Extreme Access Points.
 
I've just checked my order status and its showing as

Notice that the delivery date no longer exists ?

strange indeed. Maybe it's getting ready to ship earlier ?

Well it looks like my suspicions were right.

Mine is now showing as Shipped with an expected delivery date of 13th Feburary ? To get from UK to Ireland 🙄 With UPS I can believe it.
