Hello...

I loaded up boot camp on my MB c2d 2ghz, 1gb ram to play a couple of games...I'm surprised, it actually is quite capable of playing 3d games...

I don't have any programs to control the fan tho, and I have heard horror stories of people cooking their MBs playing games in XP... is there any truth to this? any suggestions? I know the fans are controlled through firmware, but they don't seem to be as active as when under any kind of load in OS X...

(i also have a targus cooling pad, if that helps...)

Set the fans as 3500rpm (or greater if needed) using smcFancontrol (http://81.169.182.62/~eidac/software/page5/page5.html)in OS X and reboot into Windows. That sets a minimum fan speed and it should keep your Macbook cooler than it would otherwise be.
