Here is the deal. I got a link to a neato video from another forum just today. I click on the link and it downloaded a .rm file. It then began to stream the movie. How can I ddownload or capture the movie? http://www.vai.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=164

you could try snapz pro, but the quality can suck sometimes. Other than that i have no idea.

I don't know of any OS X app to let you download it, but if you've got a PC (or VPC) then you can use StreamBox VCR (http://www.dawnload.net/audio_software/audio_tools/streambox_vcr.cfm).

Depending on how professional the operation hosting the file is you may be able to use some simple html to get the file. Save the .rm file to your hard disk and then open it with a text editor. There will be a url for the file that you are after. Make a simple html page on your hard disk with a link to that file. Open your new html file and try Download link to disk. There are ways to block people from doing this, but occasionally it will work.

That seems like a cool way to do it - I'll give it a shot. I assume .rm files are streamed versions of existing RealAudio files on the server?
