Hi
Is there any disadvantage of buying a refurb mac? What is the state of the warentee?

Same warantee as new - 1 year. Also Apple care eligible. It's like buying a new mac. Do not hesitate if the price and config is right for you, because the are no BTO's on refurbs.

Call me stupid, but what does BTO's mean? Sorry for the incompetence. :)

It's less of a problem now, but typically the issues are that bluetooth and/or wireless didn't use to be standard features on all Macs, and so you couldn't get a refurb if you definitely had to have them.
