Updated price: 600$ + shipping for this iMac.
How is $600 + shipping an updated price?
Your previous post =

It didn't sell at $600 shipped 2 months ago so you're upping the price?!
As a feeler, since it wasn't moving, you might want to drop the price to make *sure* it sells before you have to move.
P.S. This was posted as it was a feeler, not a FS thread when I commented

if you're not interested in buying, please refrain from posting. i never stated a price for the iMac so i'm stating it now. i'm open to offers though.

i would say that you are going to get around 500 for it? prbly 550 at the most...
i am kind of wondering why you have asked people as to how much you can get for this, yet to refrain from posting?...it just seems to add to the confusion from the original post to now...?
i will offer my PC?

Where do you live? Maybe you can set up a local deal. I'm interested if you are in the Mid-Atlantic region of the U.S.

This would be a perfect machine for my old high school. I'm trying to find some cheap G5 machines for their Yearbook editing.
Did you have a firm price set in mind, so I could let them know?

not for nothin' but i've sold various macs on ebay and numerous other places. ebay is a great place to look up a current potential price for what your selling, but what your selling is a bit old, slightly out dated, and umm... small. MOST people would rather wait and save the extra $300 and buy a brand new model, especially if their looking at a 17 inch. now if it were a bigger display or updated maxed out ram... bigger HD, perhaps you could get what you want for it.
It just seems that your price is a little steep for that. it's well over half price.
a quick look on ebay, I can get same machine - or better right now for $500 and that includes shipping. Perhaps if you had atleast some great software installed already that may up your price point. i.e. FCP, shake, CS2, something like that, or as I said : more RAM better, HD... etc.
You can get more from online stores at trade because 1) they have no need to sell it right away and can let it sit for a few months or 2) they part it out and things like that. they make a killing off if the old machine, just like a junk yard does of you junk a car.

thanks for the input. i'm currently working on a deal right now.
trades with online stores should be the bare minimum value of an item. when you trade in your car with a garage, you're more likely to get the lowest $$ for it as opposed to selling it privately. same principle holds true here. but thanks anyways.

should be, but not the case...
same with a car. the garage or dealer tries to get it from you for as little as possible, especially if you want cash. BUT if you trade it in, they will give you a little more because your buying from them, giving them more money, and increasing VOLUME which helps them make money. Cars are more about volume of sales.
computers, not so much. You also have to take into account that technology is constantly changing, and replacing itself. CARS are cars, they all to the basic thing, never changing. even the options are the same...
cars are vastly different. just as fruits and meats. You don't sell them for the same price? and you mark down older meat than fruit. fruit last longer.
computer is the meat dept. cars are the produce.
you can sell them both by pound, but one has a more limited shelf life. - sheeeez, you can even equate computers to day old bread.
more people need cars than computers.
