unfortunately, the prices of XP have been holding steady. with the outrageous pricing schemes that MS have, they can leave their XP prices where they are.

what will be more likely is that XP will probably not be sold anymore rather than decrease in price. Many people are not willing to go to vista at this time, so that also keeps the XP price up.

I installed Vista on my macbook last night, and i'm seriously considering going back to XP because it is a resource hog. It was using up 40% of my ram, and 20% of my CPU just by playing the built in game Texas Holdem... and i have a C2D with 2gb ram. and the fans were going at FULL blast occasionally. For no apparent reason.

sorry about the sidetrack. For OEM software, i always find that newegg.com is the best price

I bought a legit copy from someone on here.....xp pro with keys and cases for $15....registered it with Microsoft and running it on my macbook.....you can get much better deals than what I just read on here.

I can get legit copy of Windows XP Pro, and Windows Vista with one key that allows up to 10 machines. SO could be running on all amchiens in the house

Well, truth be told, good luck. Even the lowest prices on eBay for XP are around $70-80 (the one's that are legit anyway, with a CD key and CoA). Otherwise, you'll be hardpressed to find one at that price that is legit.

It is legit as far as I know, its an OEM version. Comes with a serial and everything. My college purchased around 1,000 comps and I guess they have these from each system or something.... Their also gona be getting vista but in april
