Longtime PC user here, have owned anything and everything PC, going all the way up to being on the Windows Vista Beta for a few months. After continued praise of OSX and the lack of support for Windows by friends and coworkers, I went for the switch.

Oh boy was I wrong. Mac OSX is what it is, a good looking operating system, made for people who don't know how to use a PC. It's terrible, simplistic, and to be honest.. utter rubbish.

I'm switching back to Vista Ultimate.

How do you substantiate your claim? I use Macs and PCs both at home and work.

If you want to sell your MacBook Pro I'll give you a few quid for it

So whats your point of posting this? Are you just trying to piss a bunch of people off here?

Are you having a specific problem? We would be glad to answer any questions.

It sounds to me like you never gave it a chance. When switching people over, the first thing I tell them is rule #1, ITS NOT WINDOWS! So don't expect it to operate like it. I'm a true Mac person and I'll admit, Macs aren't for everyone, but you have to give them a chance. If my dad who's 60+ years old can figure out how to use it then anyone can, but you gotta give it a chance....

I'd be quite willing to bet that the OP has never touched a Mac in his life, and is merely a bored, frustrated 14 year old who can no longer find entertainment on the internet since daddy put the nanny filter on

If you want to right click on a MacBook Pro, take 2 fingers and tap the touchpad. It will popup the right click menu. If you take those same 2 fingers and drag downward it will scroll down like a scroll wheel on a mouse.

Yes, because taking my entire hand off of the mouse and doing that is as efficient as a simple finger gesture.

What on earth makes you think that anyone cares?

Yes, because taking my entire hand off of the mouse and doing that is as efficient as a simple finger gesture. But not nearly as expressive.

Longtime Mac user here, have owned anything and everything Mac, going all the way up to being on the Leopard Developer Preview for a few months. After continued praise of Vista and the lack of support for Macs by friends and coworkers, I went for the switch.

Oh boy was I wrong. Windows is what it is, a bland looking operating system, made for people who don't know how to use a PC. It's terrible, simplistic, and to be honest.. utter rubbish.

I'm switching back to Mac OS X.

^^I think that's what the OP meant to say.

I myself find it easier than actually having 2 separate buttons. If you use your thumb to click its actually quite intuitive.

Think Different and give it a chance dude.....

But not nearly as expressive.

Moving my hand makes something less expensive? Erm, I think the answer we're looking for is no.

And it's funny that lucrativeness/price is brought up as an argument for Apple. It's like paying twice as much for comparable equipment because I get a shiny white plastic cover and silver apple.

Jokes aside.. you're used to Windows. Mac OS X isn't Windows. To expect it to operate and behave like Windows will get you disappointed. If you're not open to experience and learn something a bit different, then I guess a Mac isn't for you. There's a reason why, as you mentioned, OS X is getting praises.. you just aren't patient enough to find out why.

Oh well, that's Windows users for you, I suppose.

Perhaps people who use Windows need to learn how to READ!!! He said expressive NOT expensive!!!!

That's utter ********. To move my hand approximately 10" (25 cm for the rest of the world) to right click/scroll is MUCH more annoying than pushing my right-ring fingertip into the mouse, or scrolling w/ my middle finger for that matter.
