Its a minor thing and its been a rule for a while, no other team is complaining about this but the Red Sox. The rules committee has added a lot of good rules this year so don't say they don't do anything. Aside from Barry Bonds I don't think there is much wrong with the game right now.
Spoken like someone who roots for a team that's won their division for nine straight years.

guys, want me to publish a 2007 national tv schedule for mlb games here? i can gather up the schedules from espn (they usually post them about a week before games), tbs, wgn and fox so everyone knows when there are some games coming on the tube.
i wish espn would bring back alternate games though, i miss the option of two games, as directv would also carry the alt. feed on many nights, so if you don't like the main game you get, just go over to the alt. channel and watch that.

You may not agree with a large part of it, but ESPN's Jonah Keri's 83 Story Lines of the Season (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=keri/070329&sportCat=mlb) is an interesting read. He gets by, again, with calling the Cards the "worst team" ever to win it all. I would have been alienated by that had he not led off with:
1. Are dynasties dead in baseball? "With apologies to the Chicken Little crowd stuck in the 20th century that thinks no one but the Yankees have a chance, we've now seen seven different World Series winners in the past seven seasons."
That comment leverages out his prevailing ignorance. :p

I think it's great to have different teams each get a slice of the World Series pie. The Yankees had too much pie at the turn of the millenium, so they got fat and had to go on a diet so now they can't have any pie. They've tried to sneak some pie, but it didn't work out.
So 6 other teams got some pie, including some teams that hadn't had any pie at all, and teams that hadn't had any pie for a very, very long time. :D
Pie is goood. :D

I got a funny story to tell. We went to the Braves/White Sox exibition today, and in the fourth, Langherans came up and took two straight strikes. This guy a few rows back (drunk) started saying to his friend really loudly "He's got no chance, he'll just strike out" and kept taunting and whatnot. So Langy works it into a full count, and the drunk guy says "If he hits a home run, I'll buy you a beer (to his friend); hell I'll buy everyone here a beer."
Boom- home run.
It was glorious, the guy walked out of the section and didn't come back for about 15 minutes.

nice one. but i have a better one.
back during the first games of 2003, i was riding home from school at about 3 pm pt and listening to the angels/rangers game with the angels announcers in the car. arod was up and he was having a long at bat, so the guys talked about arod being close to 300 homers in his career. he went to 2 strikes and then one of them mentioned that he struck out a bunch in his career. next thing, bam goes #300 for arod. and then the guy that got it threw it back onto the field (this was at angels stadium). the announcers were just struck at that, that you would throw back a valued homer like that.
i'm still working on that national tv schedule for ical. i want to host it somewhere so everyone can see it.

Good day for the Twins last Spring game. Joe Mauer came up big in his first game back in a week, driving a bases-clearing double to the left-field wall to tie the game in the third inning. Took the lead for keeps later in the game with a number of minor league players. Another beautiful day in Southwest Florida :)

i've been spending the whole afternoon making an ical calendar on all of the games on national tv, so all us baseball junkies can see when games are coming on tv. note, this only covers games on espn (and affiliated networks), fox, tbs and wgn, so if your network isn't on the list, it isn't national.
i just need a server to host this on, since i don't have a .mac account.
reason i want this subscribed is that we will probably have some changes in the national tv schedule as the season goes on, as right now, most of the espn games, especially the wed. night ones don't have games on them right now, and they typically choose those 1-2 weeks in advance.

i just published an ical calendar for the 2007 baseball season for national tv games. the tagline is "find out when mlb is on tv!" and you can subscribe to it now. it covers all of the games on fox, espn 1+2, tbs and wgn, the national networks.
http://icalexchange.com/public/furcalchick/2007%20MLB%20National%20TV%20Schedule.ics
i recommend a subscription, as this schedule will be changing as the season goes on, especially the espn dates (they are typically announced about 1-2 weeks before the game).

Thanks furcalchick, I subscribed to it, glad you put in the time on it.
took me about 3-4 hours yesterday to put it up. i'll be updating this list, as most of the espn games get announced about 1-2 weeks in advance, less for wednesday nights. expect for this week, nothing. so i put a generic time slot in there as a placeholder until we get an official announcement. many of the sunday and monday night games aren't chosen yet either, i'm still trying to figure the pattern for those.
but the wgn, tbs and fox dates are pretty much set in stone (we may have a few changes for rainouts, and i could have missed a couple dates). and the last two fox saturdays are playoff chase dates, where they will be announced later in the year depending on the pennant races.

i don't drink. just buy me something cheap (less than 10 dollars) at the braves clubhouse store.
this is the first time i put a calendar up public, since i saw nobody putting up a national tv schedule anywhere, and this also helps me, as i'm always trying to find some baseball on basic cable (i have directv though) outside of the local games i get already (marlins and devil rays, one middle of the road team and a doormat). sometimes i find out about a game on wgn or espn like in the 3rd inning and i kick myself that i missed it (if i'm at home). i'm sure us baseball junkies will love this.
and speaking on that, tomorrow starts the end of an era...36th and final year of braves on tbs. after that, they are going to some lame game of the week format. stupid.

Yeah, I'm sure that sucks for you. They still play on Turner South and fox sports south for me, so I should be able to see every game. I actually kinda like what TBS had been doing with the Saturday games with all the extra cool stuff. Oh well, here's hoping the braves can take it this season and get some extra national games next year.

daily rewind is not up at the itunes store, and i want to have the show for the whole season...i'll have a routine set up, watch 30 minutes of highlights every day throughout the season on my large monitor mirrored. then talk about it on the board.
one more thing on the fox game of the week, i'll probably change the url to regional maps as they get posted (week by week basis) so everyone can see what game you are getting. hopefully, i can get the guy who works on the nfl distribution maps to do this for baseball as well.

three games start in just a few minutes.
devil rays vs. yankees - fsnfl and espn
braves vs. phillies - tbs (i'll be watching this one the most)
marlins vs. nationals - sun sports
if you are on my calendar, you should see the first two games on your schedule. also note that i've put the final score on last night's game as well as a link to the box score.
it seems like it was just last week when the season ended.

Go Devil Rays, go Phillies, go Brewers, go Indians, go Reds, go Royals, go Orioles. There, I think I've managed to cover the day rooting against everyone's favorite team. :p
The Mets got to Carpenter and the Cards early (3rd and 4th) for a 6-1 win, last night. I think we got doubled up three or four times, Beltran nailed Eckstein trying to score at the plate. Moises Alou had a diving catch in LF, and Glavine got the well deserved W.

The way they're playing (or not playing) STL could easily start their season at 0-6. They open up a 3 game series at Houston, next. No impressive starter stepping up. Carpenter to sit out his rotation. Errors. No hitting from anyone. They've been doubled up some 6-7 times already. Middle game pitching is pathetic. Hancock - 27.00 ERA and Springer with a 40.50 ERA? That's just scary. Not the way to start out of the blocks for '07. I wonder if a Cubbie fan brought a goat and spilled its blood in the ballpark? :)

NEW YORK -- After negotiations that went into extra innings, baseball struck a deal to keep its "Extra Innings" package of out-of-market games on cable television.
Under pressure from Sen. John Kerry, baseball and iN Demand reached an agreement in principle Wednesday on a seven-year contract, a deal that likely will allow the sport's new TV network to be available in at least 40 million homes when it launches in 2009.
Baseball announced an exclusive $700 million, seven-year agreement with DirecTV on March 8, but viewers who would have lost TV access to the games complained.
"The concern expressed by our fans who would have been forced to switch to alternative carriers or were unable to switch was something we tried to be responsive to," baseball chief operating officer Bob DuPuy said.
Kerry had asked the Federal Communications Commission to investigate the original deal, and during a hearing last week in Washington he pushed baseball to resume talks with iN Demand, owned by affiliates of Time Warner, Comcast and Cox. While baseball had set a March 31 deadline, the sides kept negotiating and announced a deal Wednesday night, an agreement that still must be finalized.

The Royals certainly didn't have much trouble knocking the old man around on Monday. Beckett did better, but not by much.

I'm going to guess the Royals finish close to .500 this year -- just slightly below (75-78 wins). Meche and Greinke give them two top of the line starters (and Perez and Hudson will win their share as 3-4 starters), their bullpen is significantly improved, and they have a good collection of slap hitters anchored by the most underrated OF in the game (DeJesus) and a budding superstar (Gordon).

Sounds like you're a little jealous the Sox have Matsuzaka. (And I hate both nicknames:mad: )
That's the type of performance he will give just about every game. Expect him to give up a run or two but that's about it. You'll be seeing about 10Ks every game from him.
Althought I miss having him here, I'm certainly exciting to see him pitch in the Majors. Plus I'm benefiting from from $51 million Seibu received. :D

I think the Royals started to figure him out later in the game. A better team would of hit off of him more. Im not so convinced that he is gonna be a super pitcher. Dice-K is going to tire out since he's used to a 7 day rotation so it will be interesting to see how he responds.
He will be a good pitcher but he isn't going to be the Clemans of this generation.

The Cardinals might be in trouble, they look like a mess, Baltimore looks dead in the water as well with a 3 game series in NY. Are the Pirates for real and will the Braves have what it takes to keep up with the Mets. This weekends Mets/Braves series should be a good one.
Barry Bonds might not be enough to keep the Giants afloat. They better hope for big things from Zito.

I've seen some odd weather delay and even cancel ballgames, but nothing quite like this:
CLEVELAND (AP) -- Swirling snow, lengthy delays, a near no-hitter, a tireless grounds crew and baseball fans bundled up for a football game.
It was a home opener unlike any in the Cleveland Indians' 107-year history.
And, officially, it never happened.
"A weird day," Indians starter Paul Byrd said.
A strange night, too.
One strike away from putting their first home game in the books, the Indians had their opener with the Seattle Mariners postponed Friday when daylong snow wouldn't stop and the playing surface became too dangerous.
The game was finally called after 173 minutes of stoppages, roughly the same amount of time as a regular AL game. This one was anything but normal.
The Indians were leading 4-0 with two outs in the top of the fifth, when the umpires, who pushed back the start by 57 minutes, halted play for the third time.
One hour and 17 minutes later, crew chief Rick Reed called the game at 8:41 p.m. -- 4 hours and 36 minutes after the scheduled first pitch -- ending a bizarre day and night when the Jacobs Field grounds crew, armed with backpack blowers, shovels and brooms to combat the snow, had spent more time on the field than any players.
"I was concerned about the players' welfare," Reed said. "Ultimately, it gets down to the players' safety."
At one point during the final delay, Reed summoned Indians manager Eric Wedge and Seattle's Mike Hargrove for a meeting. Earlier, the two managers had a heated on-field discussion.
Reed wanted to give the grounds crew time to clear the field again, but with more snow on the radar and the grass getting more slippery as the temperature dropped, he decided enough was enough.
"I explained that to both managers," Reed said. "We waited and we evaluated it and it wasn't safe. All parties went to the wall on this."
The game was rescheduled for 1:05 p.m. on Saturday as the opener of a day-night doubleheader that will now serve as Cleveland's opener. The clubs will also play their regularly scheduled game at 7:05 p.m. -- weather permitting.CNN/SI (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/baseball/mlb/04/06/mariners.indians.ap/index.html)
I saw some of the game. Near whiteout conditions at some points. Crews with leafblowers clearing the diamond of snow...though there was nothing much they could do about the gigantic outfield with such small tools. Very sparsely-populated stands -- on opening day, which was officially a sell-out. Kids in the seats making snowmen while they waited for the game to resume. People watching baseball, dressed for football. The PA system playing Bing Crosby's "White Christmas". Current Indians manager Eric Wedge going face-to-red face with former Indians manager Mike Hargrove, arguing about whether to continue the game. And of course, Paul Byrd getting his no-hitter blown one out shy of a complete game.
And they're gonna try to do it again today, twice, with a projected high of 32 degrees.
(shakes head)

What really gets me is that even though the game "never happened," its non-existence is still likely to place Victor Martinez on the dl for 15 days.
And with 3-5 inches on the field at the moment, they're calling off today's double header.
I get that you don't want the same teams starting on the road every season, but we could certainly start the season a week or two later and lose some off days over the summer. Give guys more rest -- is it so imperative that Todd Helton play 155 games a year instead of 140?

We have seven home games the second to last week (Florida and the Brewers) , and then finish out the season with six away games (Philly and Houston). If everything is as tight as predicted, they'll probably clinch in Philly.

i think it's going to go down between the braves and the marlins. phillies aren't good enough and the mutts are overrated, hitting won't get you far without pitching. marlins have a pitching staff that matches ours as well as a more potent offense than us so far.

Our 'pens not the greatest either. Soriano and Wickman are lights out, but even Gonzalez makes me a bit nervous. Every outting he's had has been a little shaky, but every outing he's had has been in cold weather, and he's gotta feel the ball to pitch well, so we'll see as it warms up.
The braves HAVE gotten far on hitting alone, so I'd still say the mets are the team to watch out for. The marlins have a rotation, but not bats, so I don't think they'll be a large problem for us.

The Dodgers are baseball's most complete team right now in my opinion. With a tremendous balance of youth and experience, deep pitching and a good enough offense, I can see them running away with the West (not because the West is weak, but because the Dodgers are that good).

On paper, at least. :)
The only apparent gaps in this team are the weak arms in the outfield and a potential power-hitter at third who has yet to prove himself. A lot depends on the development of the kids, in particular Kemp and Eithier, but no so much that either one must have a breakout season for the Dodgers to compete. But I've got to say, Russell Martin is doing a lot to heal the hurt of the infamous LoDuca trade. Like all great players, you won't find a lot of what he contributes to the team on paper. Watching him play, it's hard to believe that he was a rookie only last year.

Martin had a great game on Saturday, threw out a base-stealer at second that would have scored on a subsequent hit, and did a picture-perfect block of the plate that prevented another run. The LoDuca trade was more emotional than anything for me. His lack of walks and many HIDPs made his good BA a bit misleading. Still good for a catcher, but not what the local press thought he was.
I think the Dodgers' two big question marks are:
1) Outfield defense. Gonzo looked really lost in Milwaukee and Pierre completely misplayed a couple balls in SF, which is especially ridiculous considering his speed. I expected poor throwing arms, but not misjudging the fly balls. Pierre will have to get a LOT of hits to make up for it.
2) Juggling everyone's playing time. Injuries are going to happen, so this may not be a big issue later, but it will be interesting to see how Grady Little shuffles players in and out of the lineup. Veterans will need some rest and young guys need some at-bats, if only to find out who's worth keeping or trading. I like that Little is willing to play the guy with the hot bat. (Hello, Mr. Valdez!)
I'm not at all convinced they would run away with the division, both because I've seen so many underachieving Dodger teams and because they don't seem drastically better than last year. One thing that really bothers me is that last year a lot of their offense was based on their good hitting with runners in scoring position, a stat with no consistent indicators whatsoever. Long-term clutch-hitting is basically a myth, so there's no reason to think they'll do that again and they have even less power now than last season.
San Diego has good pitching and defense and their offense has to be better than last year. I've seen a lot of people pick the D'backs as an NL sleeper, but I see a potentially very fragile rotation there. I think Arizona will be better than last year and they could definitely play the spoiler role.

True.He could win the triple crown, but if he were to make an out in and leave men in scoring position in a playoff game, that's what he'd be remembered for. Definitely a what have you done for me lately sport these days...

That trade was hell on all of us Dodger fans  :(. I was watching ESPN about a year after that, and on the bottom line ticker it popped up "Dodgers fire GM Paul DePodesta", and I couldn't help but throw my arms into the air and shout "YES!! :D :D"
That year was much more about Jim Tracy and injuries than it was about DePo. DePo didn't deserve the praise he got on the way in, or the bruises he got on the way out.

The Angels really need to stop killing their bottom-of-the-9th-2-out rallies with botched stolen base attempts. They did that against Oakland last week too. Howie Kendrick was even 4-for-4 when he got up in the 9th but he got his at-bat cut short by the ending of the game at 2nd base.

the tigers offense is causing me great pain, they aren't King like they were last year but the bats are dead. Shef is hitting the ball hard at times but right at people, their pitching is what saves them as of now, but this is driving me crazy, and it stinks when they actually get a hit there is 2 outs and they arent hitting consistent enough to rally with 2 down.
oh yeah and brandon inge, what the heck man, 0-20, you are wayyyy better than that son.
maybe this series with Toronto out of the cold weather, in the dome will get the bats going because our announcers think it has to do with the cold weather, unfortunately its gonna be cold for a little while longer here in the MI.

Allow me to give yet another reason it's hard to listen to John Sterling.
After the Yankees came back to take the lead in the 8th this afternoon, Sterling said:
So the Yanks are going to go 4-2 on this road trip. And it really should have been 6-0."
Mariano Rivera blows the save, right? So, now the Yankees are 3-3 on the road trip (which, really, is close to 6-0). But the real kicker? The Yankees have won five games all year.

I tried to watch the Padres-Dodgers game this evening -- with the emphasis on tried. Sadly this game was broadcast on ESPN. Once again, those clowns in the broadcast booth were only dimly aware of the fact that they were at a ballpark.
Normally, when I'm forced to watch an EPSN broadcast, I mute the sound and just watch, so I don't have to listen to the distracting blather. It didn't work this time because the ESPN cameras rarely pointed at the field. See this was Jackie Robinson day, so they were conducting interview after interminable interview with old ballplayers. Not between innings, mind you. Not during pitching changes. Not with voices over the field action. No, it was straight through, with the camera mainly in the booth.
I didn't think I'd ever get sick of hearing Hank Aaron talk about the game, but I did, after about three innings of it, and the failure of Morgan and company to ask him a single interesting question. I also never thought I'd get sick of hearing about Jackie Robinson, and how he changed the game forever. But after three hours of the same obvious wisdom repeated over and over again, I could hear Jack shouting from his grave "enough already, play ball!"
ESPN really must hate baseball. That's all I can figure.

I totally sympathize with you on that. I thought it was great that they were talking about Jackie Robinson and what he's done for the game and all that, but come on, announce what's going on in the game!
But that was a nice walloping by the Dodgers today, despite a few errors. Jackie still would've been proud. :D

this isn't the first time espn has pulled this stunt. last year, during the first saints-falcons game, all they talked about was the stories about new orleans and how the city was devastated the whole night (i guess they thought the saints would lose by a bunch), and hardly talk about the game. okay, you can talk about the stuff first quarter but eventually you have to stop and talk about the game. it was annoying, and i really liked that game because we kicked falcon butt. i'm just about done with espn, they stink in all sports now. that's why i just listen to podcasts instead of their garbage.

Especially with all the stolen bases. I'm not totally certain, but I think the team leader in stolen bases at the moment is Russell Martin. That and a .360 batting average, and doing just about everything right defensively. Such an impressive young ballplayer. Not that anybody at ESPN noticed.

For Dodger games, I've tried listening to the play-by-play on the radio (Vin Scully) over the ESPN broadcasts, but now that they delay TV by as much as ten seconds (thanks to Janet Jackson), it's become almost impossible to use that work-around. I thought it was doubly horrible to allow the ESPN blabbermouth squad to broadcast the game on such an important historical day for the Dodgers. Who picked these meatheads over Vin Scully?

As usual, I recorded the game and watched it on fast-forward later that night. But I did watch bits of Hank Aaron. And you're right, I was surprised to find that I got sick of it pretty fast. One thing that always impressed me about Hank is that he never seems to enjoy talking about his own accomplishments. He always wants to talk about how important Jackie was, what a tough player Frank was.
And how about Joe Morgan kissing Hank's a**? Calling him the "greatest living player," despite the fact that he's on record saying (many times) that Willie Mays is the best player he ever saw? Maybe he changes his mind when the guy is sitting next to him.
I thought Randy Wolf was allowing way too many baserunners and he's lucky he didn't get stung. I really liked seeing the Dodger offense spread out and everyone contributing though. And that ballboy getting clocked was pretty wild. I bet Vin talked about putting helmets on all the guys in foul ground again.

He must have been knocked out cold, the way he just toppled over. I doubt a helmet would have helped in that situation -- the ball caromed off the fence and hit him square in the face. One of the strangest things I've ever seen in a ballpark. Still I'm not sure that they shouldn't be handing out helmets to the fans in the field-level seats. I was at the game on Friday. One rocket foul ball mowed down fans on the third base side like grass. I don't think anybody was hurt, but it did remind me how much a prefer our seats in the reserve section behind home plate. Fouls hardly ever come within two sections, which is fine with me!

I'm sure a helmet wouldn't have helped this guy. I just meant that Vin probably would have mentioned it. There have been some recent predictions that eventually a fan will be killed in the stands and we'll go to Japan-style fences. It happened in the NHL a few years ago.
Yeah, he was definitely out. He bent over a little just as a reflex for a moment, then went down like a ton of bricks.
My favorite fan-beaning story is when Richie Ashburn once fouled one that hit a woman in the stands, which he felt terrible about. The game was stopped for a while. After his at-bat resumed, he fouled another one to the same area....and hit the same lady -- now being carried out on a stretcher! It turned out the woman was a good sport about the whole thing, and her and Ashburn became friends and exchanged letters for years afterward.
Honorable mention: a pitch from Bob Feller once was fouled off into the stands and hit is own mother. On Mother's Day.

While I agree that the NY-Boston thing is way over-exposed, I'm not sure a Braves fan should be complaining about it too much. Thanks to TBS, there are legions of Braves fans across the country that have never attended one of their home games or even been to Atlanta. The Braves have had far more exposure and media attention over the last few decades than most teams that aren't in the Northeast, LA or Chicago.

i just said that to make a point that espn has a streak of making the red sox look like good guys and the yankees sound like bad guys when they both spend bunches of cash (although i think these owners should pony up and spend some more cash than just let it sit and be lackluster), and say one is good because the red sox complain about the yankees spending too much money, when their payroll is nearly as high. if this was a small market team that couldn't spend alot, i would be more forgiving, but since they aren't, not too much so.

that depends. for pitchers like maddux, his perfect game would be on 27 pitches, one pitch, one out, which i would like to see. he likes to get you out on the least amount of pitches possible, and likes to conserve his pitches. notice how on the 300 win list, he's low on the strikeout list, with just over 3000? he didn't reach the 3000 K mark until about a year after 300 wins.
so a 27 k game wouldn't be the only real perfect game to every pitcher...
oh yeah, the espn hype machine will start up yankees vs. sox tonight, but i'll be watching mets and braves, the other new york vs. boston (used to be boston braves).

I actually think our game is more important, fighting for the top of the east, whereas the bosox and yanks are only fighting for second or third.

Let's stop this uniform foolishness. Don't buy green jerseys, etc. ...

So Im looking at the standings and I notice that the NL central has 6 teams while the AL West has 4. There are 30 teams, so why isn't it an even 15 in each league.
Ok so as I stare further for no good reason I remember that they need an even number per league.

it's because if they had 15 in each league, one team would be off a series. can't have interleague all year long. ;)

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- A day after getting swept by the Boston Red Sox, the New York Yankees said Monday they plan on having top pitching prospect Phil Hughes make his major league debut Thursday against Toronto.
Yankees manager Joe Torre didn't rule out that the 20-year-old right-hander, taken in the first round of the 2004 amateur draft, might make more than one start.
"If we're comfortable and we sense he's comfortable, we'll see what we do," Torre said before the Yankees played Tampa Bay.
Hughes is 2-1 with a 3.94 ERA in three starts this season at Triple-A Scranton, and he pitched six shutout innings last Wednesday at Syracuse, allowing two hits, striking out 10 and walking none.

Speaking of desperation, is it too early to replace Juan Pierre in the field with, say, an inanimate object? And I thought Lofton had trouble judging fly balls. :o

A Gold Glove he has not, but I think he'll settle down. In the past he's been a proficient outfielder. We are going to miss Jason Repko as a late-inning substitution, though. That was the original plan I presume. Unfortunately, he's got the bad habit of crashing into things at flank speed.

When on earth did the Phillies move Brett Myers to their bullpen? And does said move seem ridiculously stupid to anyone else? I know he's off to a tough start, but it's April!
All I can think is that they want Myers to go Papelbon. But ... it's hard to get to your closer when you suck as much as the Phillies, no?

If he doesn't get to the ball, then you run run run, I think 90% of MR could get extra bases on a ball that JP does not catch ... why? He has a horrible arm.
Of course I'm being facetious, He's a reasonable outfielder and he used to be an excellent lead off man but he's been declining ... thats a reality. Sure he can turn it around, I just don't see it happening.

They were worried about power- Orr doesn't quite have the strength of Langy, but a well place single really did the trick!

He's been hitting better lately, more line drives to the outfield. But he still hits an awful lot of weak groundballs, and he doesn't leg out nearly as many infield hits as I expected. I was most startled to find out that Pierre's OBP is barely higher than Betemit's, which is amazing considering how poorly Betemit has hit so far. Oh, the power of being willing to walk.
I knew Pierre had a weak arm, but I really didn't expect him to have so much trouble judging fly balls. It's been disconcerting.
