I don't have one but I really want to get one...so I was wondering how many people actually fill theirs?

I think if I had a 10gb it would be near full.

More stats:

Songs: 6517
Capacity: 27.9 GB
Available: 1.4 GB

Songs are now a mixture of 160 VRB MP3 and 128 AAC. Am in the process of re-ripping the entire collection to fit at least another 1000 songs.

I don't leave home without it.

i've got a 10-gigger, and about 17 gig of songs. plus, i always keep about a gig free on my ipod for files etc (i use it a lot for work).

i want a 30 gig ipod! but i don't like the look of it as much as my old-style 10.

I have a 20gb iPod, on which I keep about 10gb of music. I use the remaining disk space for quick backups and transporting large files. It's really nice to have the extra room available.

2690 songs, 8.2gb out of 9.2gb
files and stuff takes up a lot of space.
still doesn't fit all my music...but then again the 30gb won't either...

my humble 5 Gig is stuffed to the max. i'm always manually moving stuff around to make room for new tunes. man, i remember when the iPod first came out, i thought "wow, i could NEVER fill that thing up!". a year later and i've got a 24 Gig iTunes library to manage. ;)

10g here.

1738 songs
2.4g left
All mp3s at 128kb

I figure that I can still fit another 650 or so songs on there. I've gone through my entire music collection and put darn near everything that I thought was worthwhile on the ipod. Still have a number of cds that I don't want to put on as I feel they would only waste space.

650 songs is roughly 50 cds (at 12-13 songs per) I don't buy (or d/l) 20 cds a year so I still have at least 2 years worth of room left IMO.

If I had an ipod, it would be the 10 gig,
and it would be 1 gig full of music, and then 9 or so gigs of pirated media like tv, comedy series, movies :)

I've got 5.4 gig on a 10 gig iPod, 4 gigs free for DVD source files and audio stuff, it varies. Around 950 songs.

All files 160kbs AAC, sounds better than the 320kbs MP3's I was using, in half the space.

I tend to throw a new set of albums off the AlBook at the weekend, I've got around 20 gigs of audio on a Maxtor firewire drive.

Songs 458
Capacity 13.9GB
Available 10.3GB

422 songs encoded at 256kbits (mp3)and the rest at 128kbits (mp3).

Why are others converting their songs to AAC? And if i have my songs at 256 already can i do the same, if so what software do i need?

30Gb iPod

Songs : 4625
Capacity : 27.9 Gb
Available : 6.5 Gb

All tracks are 160kbps AAC (re-ripped most of my CDs waiting for iPod to be delivered). Probably ~200kb of contacts/calander entries.

Many people I know find every CD in their house, like 'em or not, import them into iTunes and then show of with their music collection.

But I only keep the music I listen to and then use the remaining space for docs.

I have about 8 gigs out of 13.9 (15 giger) free. What can I say? I don't have that much music, only about 1200 songs, and some of those are audio books and spoken word files.

I still have plenty of space! Yay!:D

thats what I meant when I said I have cds that IMO would just waste space if I put them on my ipod. I have probably 60-70 cds that I could literally throw away and would never miss, as I will probably never listen to them again. Alot of those were the "buy for 1 song I like, the rest of it sucks" cd.

My iPod:

Songs: 916
Capacity: 27,9 (30 GB)
Avail.: 23,7

Still re-repping into AAC. My old iPod (5 GB) is stuffed 100%, I plan on emptying it and using it in the car with an iTrip.

A lot of audio books for me, to. Only problem is, the iPod doesn't seem to like to handle 12-hour files really well:rolleyes:
