$0 (but I could if I wanted to)

I'm surprised at this number.
Why is this? Modem speed? Still using ptp?
Anyone want to guess?

"Could if you wanted to" could also include the people who don't want their credit card numbers out in cyberspace even with a "trusted" company like Apple. This is what is preventing three users I know from using the service.

(Not saying this is me. I fall into the $30 category. :D)

Maybe Apple should get with one of these companies like American Express/Visa/MC/Discover/etc who have rechargable cards that are usually used as gift cards... They have the company's logo and can be used wherever that company's cards are also accepted. Have a bunch of these at Apple's checkout stands as well. Make a marketing gimmick out of it.

I voted $0, but I could if I wanted to. But at the moment I'm using Mac OS 9, so I'm not using iTunes! Apple still has a great untapped market 23.93%! It's prospects are even better when the Windows & International version is available @ 27.33%.

I just tried the service - I've only had my iBook for a week now. I think I'm going to be buying quite a bit on here. Mr Bungle, Guns and Roses?! weee!

Where is $0, because I don't want to?

For the record, I have purchased 3 songs for $2.97.

68 songs. $63.54.

The 24 different albums would have cost me anywhere from $312 ($13/album) to $456 ($19/album).

But then again, if I couldn't get the $.99 download/song, I probably wouldn't have bought the music anyway.

my friend used one but didnt work because the card wasnt issued to him personally, so address didnt match. Honestly i dont feel people who are scared to give their number out is a big issue among people. those people are just kind of paranoid and are really scared, plus if you get outrageos charges the card company would look into it and propose fraud and give you all your money back if it got stolen. i can just as easily take your credit card number at a store when i swipe it.

17 and counting for me. I love the store and have found some good stuff there.

BTW, does anybody know where AC/DC is. None there. Would grab a couple older ones from them if they were there.

I voted 0, but I could use it if I wanted to.

Why haven't I? Well until the Apple Music Store appeared, all the stuff on my "want to buy" list was albums. I tend to buy classical music (multiple tracks, often just one or two symphonies or other large compositions on a CD), showtunes (for which I want the whole CD), or albums of artists I know and love (also want the whole CD). I like cover art and liner notes, so I doubt that I'd ever buy an entire album off of the Apple Music store. Once I have made my way through the numerous albums on my wish list (on my limited budget, that could take a while), I'll probably have built up a list of singles that I'd be willing to splurge on. But until then, no downloads for me.

I put $0 but I could if I wanted to. The two reasons are

1) I haven't is that the music I want isn't there yet. I check iTMS every Tuesday/Wednesday to see what's been added. I've sent Apple my request but I'm still waiting...

2) Porting over my cd collection to iTunes is something I really want to do but I need more storage. I really need an iPod or external drive if I want to download any music. (I really don't want to burn to a CD because I have enough CDs as it is. Plus I want the ability to listen to my music on demand.)

I buy CDs for my music (classical music, not much point to buy just one track).
Still thinking about buying a whole album on iTMS.
But my brother (who is a windoze user) has asked me to buy some movie music for him.
So far, we (he) bought 10.

I purchased 30 songs so that makes $29.70 so far.

I'm thoroughly addicted, and fell in the $100 - $199 range.

It's just too convenient. :D

46 songs so far, a couple albums, stuff I don't need the cover art for. Its so much more fun that p2p. Too bad this actually costs money:D But I am really glad to have been able to do this legally.

$2.97. I rarely watch t.v., and when I hear a single I like on the radio it takes me forever to figure out who/what it is.

I'm sure it varies from state to state, but in KY if the company from which you are purchasing has any physical presence in the state, you must pay sales tax. If not, you don't. But, when I ordered my iPod, I had to pay sales tax. I don't know of anything Apple located in KY. When I download songs, so far there hasn't been any tax.

5 albums, 30 singles. I love it, I haven't bought a CD in 2 years due to all the DRM bull.... so have a long list of music I want. I love being able to buy singles, there are a lot of one hit wonders out there and would never have bought the album but at .99, hey, why not! Can't wait until there is more indie stuff available.

I don't use a credit card...my check card works great for stuff like this. And whenever I use it (grocery stores and the like) I always say credit. That way I don't have to use a pin number and it's quicker, too. :D

I was afraid that I'd be there too, so in the prefs I just check the 'shopping cart' option so that it's just a little more inconvenient. :(

I think it's more fun because (1) it is legal, and (2) because I know exactly what I'm getting when I download the song. I'm not just hoping it's the right one.

I agree that it is way too easy to spend loads of money there. I haven't clicked the "do not show this again" on the "are you sure you want to buy" pane because it makes me think twice. I can't ever imagine buying a CD in a store again.

For some reason, the iTMS doesn't seem to work like that (at least not consistently). I live in California, about 45 minutes away from Apple HQ, and I have not been charged sales tax on any of my iTMS purchases. I *am* charged sales tax on purchases from the Apple Store online, and I was charged sales tax when I signed up for .Mac. I use the same account for all of my purchases.

I'm not sure why this is.
