Folks, I'm fed up with Toshiba hard drives in general. I consider them to be rather unreliable. During the past few months two of my Apple laptops died with the bad hard drives (clicking noises). Last year one of the Apple laptop (G3 iBook) had its hard drive go to waste completely. This is frustrating as all of them were Toshiba hard drives.

I hate TOSHIBA quite a bit now. That's 3 misfortunes. I have always replaced them with Seagate hard drives now.

And Fujitsu isn't too bad either but Toshiba isn't reliable at all.

Any other horrible hard drive experiences?

I had a Toshiba drive fail in my 12" powerbook (1.33GHz). Lasted 14 months.

Junk.

Yeah, those are lousy too... I use Western Digital and Seagate only.

In fact, Lacie is repackaged Maxtor I believe.

Seagate purchased Maxtor over a year ago.
