Macbook Pro w/ 20" Monitor

Hello.
I got my 20" Monitor in the mail today and I'm using it for my macbook pro.
I have a elevator under my macbook pro.
I'm having trouble finding a good position for both the monitor and macbook pro. Finding the screens to far away or the elevator taking up too much of my desk.
How did you guys position your mbps?

yer i have a 19" screen and macbook and i have no elevator but i sue external keyboard ans mouse! infact he is a dodgy pic of my little setup!>

I use an empty box. :o I don't know why I'm not getting a laptop stand, I'm not even paying for it. :rolleyes:

Heres a grainy picture of my setup, didn't feel like messing with the cameras options. I'm not feelin the positions of the screens though, I'm gonna have to move them around a bit.

68859Did you know that you can rotate that Dell so you have a very tall portrait monitor next to your MacBook Pro instead of the same old landscape mode? Open your System Preferences -> Displays and notice the Rotate: option in lower right corner of the Display pane of your Dell. Select 90° and watch your layout shift so that you can then rotate the screen into portrait mode which allows you to have very tall web pages making it much easier to read all these posts at once. :)

This is one of the primary reasons to buy Dell monitors and to always get ATI Display cards. nVidea graphics cards don't support rotation while all ATI crads do.

I have two different 20" Dells rotated that way - one on my old PB and another is my home screen on this Quad G5 which I have a total of 4 monitors hooked up to including a 30" Dell, a 24" Dell and a 40" Samsung 4095 HDTV.

A wireless keyboard is the way to go. I've got a 20" dell screen that I use my macbook pro with. It's excellent and mac os x looks really nice on a large monitor. I raise my external to it's highest position and I put my mbp in front of it and then I use my wireless keyboard in front of my mbp. I usually don't use the mbp's screen. I find it a hassle to drag the mouse all the way to the left side of the screen to get on to the mbp's. So, I just let my mbp chill there. Also, I plug my dell's extra 4 USB ports in to my mbp and then plug all of the necessary peripherals in to the monitor.

I was just about to turn my monitor on its sides then I remembered I play Oblvion on my macbook pro :mad:

I was just about to turn my monitor on its sides then I remembered I play Oblvion on my macbook pro :mad:Play oblivion on the MBP Screen while you read and write on Forums on the rotated Dell. Or just switch it back and forth when you're doing different things. Takes only a moment.
