Hmmm, don't quite know what to make of this - sort of say "TARGET" in mile high letters.

Previous solution, used with Charles and Andrew was to enlist them in the Royal Navy - then they have a bloody great warship and crew to protect them.

If he's killed there's going to be the biggest propaganda victory Al-Queda have made since 9/11.

The British Royal Family has a record of serving in the Armed Forces.

Maybe we could Prince Phillip as well? He'd sort those bloody foreigners out!

Well, he's off to Iraq – but will he actually be in a position where he's liable to do any fighting?

According to the BBC (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6383747.stm) his duties will "involve leading a troop of 12 men in four Scimitar armoured reconnaissance vehicles, each with a crew of three" from the regiment's "A squadron"... Further details of exactly where Harry would serve, or his specific role, would not be released because such a move would be "potentially dangerous".

Would the public really care?
I sure wouldn't care any more than when any other soldier dies...IMO the time for a monarchy has been and gone...

Will he even get much of a chance? The news yesterday was that the Brits are going to be pulling parts of their force out of Iraq over the next year.

Atleast he's going there.. it's another thing if he is in an active combat zone or not.

On the other hand, I don't see any American politician's kids going to Iraq.. come on Bush, send your girls in there.. or one.. since you're so hellbent on 'defending' our country.

Given the history with their family in the Army, I doubt it could be avoided.

Hey, none of this negative talk. He'd be glad to send his own children to war. It's for the greater good!

Kings of old going to war would often have very expensive suits of armour made for themselves, suits that were of vastly better quality that the normal Knight would have.

Wonder if Harry is getting some prototype powered armour or something?

 and :) or ;) .

On the one hand, it's great that he is going to Iraq. On the other, I wouldn't want to be in his platoon, regiment or whatever...TARGET is right!

Umm...technically he's not the heir to the throne - Charles is, and William's before him too. He's third in line.

Is it really fair to everyone else over there that he will be in a bubble protected from real combat.

He'll be doing everything his unit is commanded to do.

I hope he does not die. That would be awful. He really has become incredibly hot in recent years. William used to be the hot one but now he just looks too much like his father.

Mmm...Harry...mmm...mmm...he can bomb my insurgents any day...he can liberate my people...he can friendly fire my ass...

Erm.

Which Charles would bog off we need a pin up king.A moot point, seeing as none of them will be king until dear old Lizzie drops dead. ;)

Well, sending them off to war is the best way I can think of killing them off :)

I'm not much of a fan of Chris Eubank but this at his demo was pretty on the money

"Blair, don't send our young prince to your catastrophic illegal war to make it look plausible."

Suppose, going by her mother we wont get a new monarch until 2027 or there abouts because she will never abdicate, even if Pascal Sauvage has his way.

Little bit of personal trivia: Harry was born a matter of hours before me and as a result my parents got quite a lot of free nappies for me.

Absolutely not. William's hair is already going like his father's and he has a big long horsey face. Sure, he was once handsome but now it is like watching an ice cream melt - you know it's going to end up messy and gross.

The hair I could care less about, nothing you can do about that. BUT, I've seen William in a bathing suit - not a pretty sight. ;)
