I'm buying a 1 Ghz emac with combo drive for my mother in the next few days, and I'm looking for the best place to get one.

She does not need anything with it except for more RAM than the pitiful 128 that it comes with. All of the places that offer "free" 256 upgrades seem to charge about $40 install fees- what a joke! I could practically buy the RAM for as little and install it myself. Does anyone know of a good (online?) retailer that offers extra RAM? Thanks!

Check out Mac ReviewZone: http://macreviewzone.com/html/reviews/guides/individual/03/emac/1ghz-super-may.shtml

You'll find all of the various bundles and specials the online dealers are offering. Remember that the eMac is a HEAVY machine, so make sure you factor in shipping charges.

I like PowerMax (http://www.powermax.com/). Good service, no tax (cuz they're in Oregon), cheap shipping, lots of extras, refurbs and customizing. You could always just buy some RAM and install it for her.

BTTM has that site-sponsered store right? What's it called? I've heard good things. I bet he can give you a good deal.
