Microphone Question

Do you think this (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=12837&A=details&Q=&sku=421461&is=REG&addedTroughType=categoryNavigation) microphone could pick up 2 people sitting next to each other well when placed on a table in front of them? I don't have too much experience with microphones but I know some will only pick up a very close range and what they're pointed at.

it's a hyper-cardioid, so no. ideal would be a figure-8 mic (w/ the subjects facing each other), or failing that, an omni. you can get away with a cardioid if the subjects are, well, basically hugging.

edit: you always have the option of using two mics, though you may notice that maxing out at one mic is a limitation of going the USB-mic route.
