It's already out man.

I believe you are mistaken.

10.4.9 has not been released to the general public yet. If it had, it would be on my computer, so the OP's question still stands.

Unless of course it's Intel only, but I don't think Apple would do that.

I think Mac OS 10.4.9 will include some of the Leopard features. Just look at the seeds updates size! They are gigantic. There must be something new in Mac OS 10.4.9.:apple:

Well they're unlikely to be giving away for free anything that's going on sale with Leopard. I wonder if 10.4.9 contains anything necessary for :apple: TV though? If so it will have to be released before the end of February if Apple are to meet their :apple: TV shipping date.

I am guessing Mac OS 10.4.9 is going to be realesed this Friday. Either on Wednesday or Thursday they are going to release a lot of software updates. This is common before a system update. I remember there were a lot of updates released a day or two before Mac OS 10.4.8 and Mac OS 10.4.8 was released on a Friday.

I think 10.4.9...

...will come out when its ready. I wonder how many software engineers are used to test out the various new portions of code...

Think it wont comtain any new features, although I wonder if there'll be support for :apple: TV within 10.3.9

Can't fault Tiger - it has been fantastic since 10.4.0 - no quarms with it at all.

My guess would be tomorrow, with the :apple: TV and iTunes 7.1. I mean, it makes sense, right. The :apple: TV is supposed to ship sometime this month, and there are only 2 days left in this month, and it only makes sense that iTunes will be updated, and a very good chance OS X 4.9 as well.

....and don't forget the PowerBook G5s

Well a new developer build has just been released 8P132/8P2132 so no public release of 10.4.9 this week. There's only one (relatively minor) fix since the last build so this must be very close.

If it is required for :apple: TV though, then bear in mind that :apple: TV has been delayed until "mid-March".
