Symphony No. 1, composed by Christopher Rouse - 27:07

Longest non-classical song is Come On by The Verve - 15:15 - kinda. The song enda after like 6 minutes or so, gives way to about a 7 minute pause, then a hidden track.

Longest non-broken non-classical song is Say Hello Wave Goodbye by David Gray - 9:03.

edit: actually, come to think of it, that longest classical song will change, I want to re-encode Rite of Spring (Le sacre du printemps) by Igor Stravinsky which will end up around 30-32 minutes. Cool. =-)

Same with me. Are the two sides supposed to be played right after each other. I only have the LP version. They both fade in and out, which seems like they're supposed to be separate tracks. However, the title is the same for both sides.

Let's see...the top 5 of mine...

1. Beethoven's 9th, 4th Movement, 25m 44s
2. "Matrix Reloaded" Suite, 17m 35s
3. An American in Paris, 17m 19s
4. Airline Announcements, George Carlin, 16m 42s
5. Beethoven's 9th, 1st Movement, 16m 37s

I have 30 songs which are up in the double digits of minutes, and that's only out of a 1750 song library...though honestly, a few comedy skits intermingle with it, as seen in my top 5. ;)

Yes it is.

I like that whole album and kind of blue.

Freddie freeloader, all blues, and so what are also very good (Kind of blue), as are all of his other works for that matter.

John coltrane and thelonious monk are also very good, but most of monk's works tend to be short.

It is actually one long song that spans both sides of the LP. On the cd, the tracks are separated as "side one" and "side two" with the fade out and fade in preserved. As there are many musical and lyrical themes that are carried over from one side to the other, I believe they are meant to be played in succession.

It was the first CD I ever bought (in 1985 or 86)

Yes, from back in the days of vinyl when you had to design your album around the available time per side. Old School!

That's what I thought, but the fades threw me off a little bit. I'll probably end up leaving them as separate tracks in my version I recorded from the LP.

2. "Sister Ray" by The Velvet Underground - 17:27
3. Side One or Two of Zappa's "Lumpy Gravy" (great album, btw), either of which are 15:50

The Road to Ensenada By Lyle Lovett 10:12

Tonight I fell asleep at the wheel By Barenaked Ladies 8:51

The Champion By Carman 8:39

Sweet Child o' Mine By Sherryl Crow 8:33

I have a continuous file of Handel's "The Messiah" but i generally listen to the borken up chunks of it. After that, it would be the broadcast of "War of the Worlds" by Orson Welles that I found on LimeWire. I find it appropriate seeing as how my TiBook 800 is named Orson.
