This is a weird random question, but why is it that, in other durable goods, Germany is usually considered the core market in Europe by multinationals, but in computers, the UK always seems to get more attention than Germany does?

Probably because the UK speaks English so no localisation is required.

That is an interesting question. I don't think it's about the language really. If that were so, it would be across the board, not just about computers.

I wonder if home computer usage is higher in England than it is in Germany. Anyone have any stats?

Don't have any stats, but I suspect it's easier to localize a refrigerator than it is to localize software. Few products have as much text as computers do.
