I am wrapping up my complete switch from PC over to Mac and I need to find a couple things to make my switch complete. With my PC I had a Creative X-Fi audio card and it had a recording feature called "What you hear" which would record whatever was playing through my speakers. It was beneficial for recording clips from songs, movies, etc. What is out there that some of you are using to accomplish this?

Also, what is a great program for ripping my DVDs into my Mac to back them up?

Thanks

as far as the "what you hear" recording there used to be a free software called wiretap, I don't know if it is still circulating around the web. I of course got it, used it, and forgot where i downloaded it from. But it did exactly what you were asking for.
