Bluetooth MX1000 - horrible mouse lag on MBP

I haven't installed any drivers or anything because I've heard there aren't any. When I move the mouse around, the pointer will skip around, and when it does move, it's really jittery. What can I do to have my mouse run smoothly?

maybe play with sensativitey a little bit, or replace the batteries.
