Let's keep a running list of '07 singles that are your favourites. No album listings... just songs. I figure it'll be a great way to discover new music.
(If the album was released in the second half of 2006, but the song hasn't been released as a single the same year, I suppose it qualifies. )
1. Wake Me Up - Norah Jones (Not Too Late)
2. Learning How to Live - Lucinda Williams (West)
3. Rescue - Lucinda Williams (West)
4. Baby - Nouvelle Vague (Late Night Tales)
5. Patience - Take That (Beautiful World)
6. Scar - All Saints (Studio 1)
7. Fluorescent - Gwen Stefani (The Sweet Escape)
8. All Good Things - Nelly Furtado (Loose)

Cool! That is last week's free song download on iTS Canada. I have it downloaded but haven't given it a listen yet. :) Nan Your a Window Shopper - Lily Allen (not sure if its 2006 or 2007)Great song. I also like her Alfie song, especially the music video. Hilarious!

:) Great song. I also like her Alfie song, especially the music video. Hilarious!
Yea I was gonna put that up too but I thought one Lily Allen selection was good enough. I was in Starbucks the other day (shocker) and read the write up for her CD. The author said she had 'Refreshing Cynicism' and thats really the most perfect way to describe her.
On other musical notes:
I like Money Marks album Brand New by Tomorrow
And you should all check out David Axelrod if you don't know who he is. His body of work is so versitile and influencial and always ahead of it's time. If your into experimental sounds.

OK. So I have Phantom Limb by The Shins on iTunes rotation. The song is catchy and the vocals so damn good.
But the lyrics leave me scratching my head. :o
Foals in winter coats,
White girls of the north,
Filed past one, five and one
They are the fabled lambs,
A Sunday ham,
The ancient snow.
And they could float above the grass,
In circles if they tried,
A latent power I'm known to hide,
To keep some hope alive,
That a girl like I could ever try,
Could ever try.
So we just skirt the hallway signs,
A phantom and a fly,
Follow the lines and wonder why
There's no connection.
And weakened falling eyes,
In cheap shots from the tribe,
And we're often in Marcus’ porch again,
Another afternoon with the goat-head tunes,
And pilfered booze.
We wandered through her mama's house,
And the milk from the window lights,
Family portrait circa ninety-five,
This is that foreign land,
With the sprayed on tans,
And it all feels fine,
Be it silk or slime,
So, when they tap our Monday heads,
To zombie-walk in our stead,
This town seems hardly worth our time,
And we'll no longer memorize or rhyme,
Too far along in our climb,
Stepping over what now towers to the sky,
With no connection.
Oooh waooooooo waooooooo (x4)
So, when they tap our Sunday heads,
To zombie-walk in our stead,
This town seems hardly worth our time,
And we'll no longer memorize or rhyme,
Too far along in our climb,
Stepping over what now towers to the sky,
With no connection.
Oooh waooooooo waooooooo
(repeat to fade)
I'm guessing these guys went back to their old hometown during the winter to find it has changed from when they left. And that the town is foreign and changing? Your interpretation...

Am living in it at the moment. I really really like it. But I don't love it. Funeral started off by taking my breath away and never let me get my breath back.
Neon Bible feels like it's fighting really hard to be more than the sum of its influences. Or, it's wicked parodic. And it's much more funereal than Funeral. Dunno. It's intellectually great. Just not sure about the music all the time.
Still. I really really like it.

Arcade Fire's song, Intervention, is the most amazing song with orchestral organs and lyrics; the best track from Neon Bible.

Sea Legs is pretty good (hell, the whole album is good), but my favorite(s) on Wincing are tracks 9, 10, 11 (Spilt Needles, Girl Sailor, A Comet Appears, respecitvely). I could probably listen to those three songs on repeat all day long.

Hmm..... :confused::confused::confused:
Thanks to everyone who has put up with me the last several months, but I've finally had enough of MacRumors. It's true, but it has nothing to do with the great members here. It's me. As of today, I will no longer be posting and sharing Mac stories, help and musings with y'all.
Why?
I've decided my life needs to move on, and I cannot do it without focusing my energies on where it needs to go. Thanks for the fun times, y'all.
Take care,
