Just wondering if there's any chance of that happening. I'm looking at buying a non-mobile mac (I already have a macbook) that I'd probably use as a combination desktop/media center type of thing. I don't care for the iMac, and the mac pro is way overpowered for what I plan to do with it.

This leaves the mac mini, but I don't want my screen size to be constrained in the future if I find myself looking at a 30" screen.

Well, the next mini is likely to sport an Intel Integrated X3000 GPU, which, I am not sure but, I think might support the 30". Wikipedia lists the X3000 as supporting dual digital displays so it's possible it could be configured to support the 30" at least.

That said, it seems ... silly to connect a $2000 display to a $700 computer. Surely a 24" Dell will suffice for desktop space, or if it's big screen media playback you're after then a 42" LCD/Plasma would be the better buy I'd think.
