iPod iPod & dock?

Hey,

Silly question I feel I should know the answer to really but I don't. I just bought some cheap Philips speakers (for use on my travels) but they are kinda quiet, I've disabled the volume limiter and it made it a bit better.

The question is would a dock/line out help my volume problem? I'd like one anyway...
