Those pictures look awful odd for just a simple box cover. Why the weird angles and weird crops? Does this person not know how to hold a camera? Or are they so good at 3D rendering that they're showing off by MAKING it look bad?
Personally... I don't care. :D
Real, fake, gimme PPC 970's! :p

They could feel that if they post full pics of the box that they could be welcoming people to copy the idea.
dont want to help with corprate espionage, but still want to give an idea of what is to come.
personally i have been waiting for something like this in a way.
i want the ability to use my laptop as a wireless terminal machine so that all work is done on my tower from my laptop. (linked user account)
this way if i check my email on my laptop, the mail is also on my tower.
all connected by ethernet or airport.
dont say timbuk2 or remote desktop... look for something diff

I'm going with fake. I think if they were real Apple Legal would have crushed them like a bug.

My only reasoning for thinking that it might be fake is that it says it's for OS X 10.3 not OS X v10.3. I checked all of the Apple brand software I own and in every instance it says OS X v10.x on it. I know at the company I work for we have very strict policies regarding name usage and they must be followed. Even if it is a prototype box it's one of those things that would've been on there out of force of habit.

They look fake to me, but if this comes out to be true, I wouldn't be that suprised.

Fake. "Forget Disks"....sure I can see that. "Forget syncing"....not at a time when Apple is standing behind its own syncing software. It seems odd to me.

quickly everyone who voted real quickly recanter!
:as the poll suddenly appears 99.9% fake:
The shadows and lighting across the "box" surface are off too - more like pro lighting rather than what you'd see if taken quickly with an ordinary camera.
They look too perfectly real, rather than real real (can anyone make sense of that sentance??). Magazine quality rather than taken on the sly.
Still, i'm dying to see what the end of the month brings us...

Very good point. iSync is currently featured (big) on the Apple.com splash page. They're really pushing how easy it is to sync your machines and portable devices. They just added bookmark syncing thru .Mac. So now they're going to start a campaign that says "Forget Syncing?" Not bloody likely.
That being said, this could be an internal mock up for a product that's still a year or two down the road (or that isn't even in development yet). Not a real product... but not necessarily a deliberate fake.

I do like that point. Along with the "10.3" versus "v10.3" point, I'm persuaded these are probably fake.
(Of course, one response to both of these points is that the product may be real, but the packaging/marketing materials are still in draft -- they may be real but subject to revision before being made public.)

I ask for foregiveness, I was wrong. If arn says that it's a fake, that is all that I need to know on the subject. I definitely don't have the expertise and knowledge that arn does. I'm sorry!
