Slow internet

I got a new MacBook. Fresh out of the box, no files or programs loaded on it yet. I have it hooked up to a cable modem-Ethernet connection. The internet runs sooo slow. any ideas why?
 
Each ISP uses slightly different settings. Check with your provider to ensure you have the correct DNS settings etc. 🙂
