Hey guys,
I'm on my friends macbook that he just got back from apple for service and he is having a problem with safari not saving any new bookmarks. His software is up to date, but when he goes to add a bookmark, it says "There is a problem saving your bookmarks. Safari encountered a problem saving your bookmarks". Any ideas of solutions? Thanks

Tell him to try repairing permissions.

Also, maybe get your friend to reinstall the relevant OSX combo update. What sort of machine and what OS are they running? :)

Re-install and wait for Mac OS 10.4.9 (when going to be released), update to 10.4.9 and repair permissions (always).

Click on Disc Utility (in Applications/Utilities folder) and click on Repair Permissions.

Here's the Intel 10.4.8 combo update (http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx1048comboupdateintel.html) to download and install, if necessary. It's pretty big though. :)
