Hi,

I have a new Airport Extreme. The Setup was very easy and everything works perfect.

Now I wanted to connect a Harddisk with two partitions on it. My plan was to have an "open" partition, where everyone from my network has access and the other partition should only be accessible by password.
Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to do this, since access seems only be controlable for the whole disk and not for single partitions.

Does anyone knows how this is possible?

I have tried everything I could think of and this doesnt seem possible.

I'm pretty sure the Airport can do that by default, though instead of using separate partitions, you set up user accounts.

What would work for you is to set up a password and then allow a guest account. That'll let anyone access the guest/shared portion, but then you need a password to access the full disk.

Hmm, not sure I fully understand:

I should set up user accounts, but for what? For the partitions?

And if I allow guest access, I can choose between read only and read/write which both is for the whole harddrive.

Sorry for not yet getting it... :(
