USB 2 drivers for OS 9

I have made a USB 2 HD enclosure filled with a 2.5" 20 gig IDE hard disk and
would like to know how to hook it up to my G3 with 9.1 OS.
Each time I am connecting the disk I can see it on the desktop but as soon as I try to copy a file on the disk or from it the computer freeze except for the cursor.
Driver problem? Anybody have a idea on this?

It would load up because 9 sees it as a normal USB drive, but USB 2 came out after Apple stopped dev' on OS 9 so you'll probably not have any luck.

You may find 3rd party drivers, good luck brave soldier.
