I'm trying to do a VPN connection to a server and right now I keep gettting this message:
The connection was terminated by the communication device. Please verify your settings and try again.

I've tried deleting all of my VPN settings and starting from scratch and that didn't work. Also two of my friends have identical computers and the exact same configuration works fine. Anyone have any ideas?

EDIT:
Here are my log files from the ppp log:
Sun Mar 11 21:30:35 2007 : PPTP connecting to server 'xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)...
Sun Mar 11 21:30:35 2007 : PPTP connection established.
Sun Mar 11 21:30:35 2007 : Using interface ppp0
Sun Mar 11 21:30:35 2007 : Connect: ppp0 <--> socket[34:17]
Sun Mar 11 21:30:37 2007 : PPTP hangup
Sun Mar 11 21:30:37 2007 : Connection terminated.
Sun Mar 11 21:30:37 2007 : PPTP disconnecting...
Sun Mar 11 21:30:37 2007 : PPTP disconnected

If all your VPN settings are correct, have you checked your Mac OS firewall? Maybe something needs to be enabled in there.

AAF,

Are you still having this issue? If you've resolved it please let me know.

I just upgraded from a Linksys WRT54G v2 router to a Linksys WRT54G v8 router and I am experiencing the same problem. My ppp.log is an exact replica of your and the message I receive is the same. The strange part is that all of the settings on my v8 Linksys are one-for-one with my previous old v2 router and the VPN, with no configuration changes, worked just fine with the v2.

Just for your information, the reason I'm upgrading is the wireless component of the v2 no longer works.

Can anyone offer any insight?

Thanks!

bcphil00, I still haven't been able to figure it out. If you have any other ideas, I'm open to them.

It worked for me :)

Here are their set up instructions after you purchase the pptp service for $39.99 a year.
