It wouldn't take much to do, but what if there was a real chat room on macrumors were you can voice talk, something like iChat.
let me know what you think and its Just a thought.

I thought you said it was a grand idea?

The question, of course, is why?

The question, of course, is why?Well, I'd like to hear just how much conviction a given member has toward MacBooks over MacBookPros, for one.

And maybe I'd be more convinced to wait to purchase new hardware if I could actually hear members telling me that Leopard will surely be released "soon."

If we can't keep the official IRC room alive how do you expect us to maintain a voice chat?

You could use something like...iChat.

One of the attractions of the Internet is that no one actually exists outside of my own perception.

Stop freaking me out.

Its not worth visiting anymore really. Been dead for awhile. Most of the cool people have moved onto another channel.

I did this afternoon, for like 20 seconds to see if there really was an IRC channel. Seems as if there is. I still believe OS X lacks a realllllly good IRC client, but thats my opinion. Sooner they build it into Adium the better.

Tried it. :( All of the ones I can find and there is just nothing that grabs me. I think 'Xirc' is the best of a bad bunch really.

tried X-Chat Aqua? (http://sourceforge.net/projects/xchataqua/) Every single person I know ends up using either it or Colloquy, so I'd say it's your best other option..
