There should be an /Applications/Library folder on a clean Mac from a store. Don't ask me why receipts are stored there as well.
I remember it was there since I DID delete it. 🙄Hmm...okay, my bad. I don't remember ever seeing that before, but then again, it's been awhile since I got a new Mac. And I suppose I deleted that folder because it didn't serve a purpose...there's no reason I've ever seen to put Receipts there. 🙄

It's not that confusing...ya weird right?
it's got every pkg from iChat to Airport updates in there..
so what the heck..? guess i'll just copy that file over and have it in both library folders??
so I have a library folder in three places now....HD, User, and Apps......uggh.

It was on my Intel iMac Core Duo. I've seen it on the new MacBooks that I image for work too.Do you know when they started doing this or if upgrading gets rid of it?
I just checked my fiancée's iBook...it came pre-installed with Panther and has been upgraded to Tiger. I am certain that neither of us deleted it, but there's no such folder there on her machine.
That's where they should have been in the first place too. I'm glad you got it working again. Just remember repairing permissions is a good way to fix application issues not a performance booster.ok,
thanks for your reply's 🙂 helped out a lot!
i moved that file over to the /library/receipts folder, did a veryify/repair disc permissions and it ran without an error so.....😀
odd how it works like that, and I never even had that folder on my Powermac G5, just had /library and ~/Library
thanks again 🙂
