Believe it or not, but toothpaste combined with water and soap makes it shine just like new. I used a piece of cotton cloth (actually it used to be a shirt) and soaked it in the soap water and applied some toothpaste directly on my iBook. Then started to rub gently and I couldn't believe my eyes... all the dirt/dust/stuff that makes the case appear kinda grey was gone. Totally worth a try! Works for the palm rest too.

Nice idea. Keep it away from the screen though. :)

it's because toothpaste contains a mild abrasive, it's like a polish in some way. good idea by the way :D

Mr. Clean magic eraser? I heard that those will clean anything, someone should try it on a macbook!

Seriously though, anyone know how to get the greasy stains off of the keys such as the spacebar and stuff?

We can't get Mr. Clean Magic Erasers here in the UK so I just ordered some from eBay to see what all the fuss is about. My MacBook could do with a 'professional' clean anyway.

When I had my ibook, I found Pledge Multi surface works great for cleaning the case, haven't tries it on the mbp yet.
