iTunes compilation importing help

So I've just imported a compilation album and because I have my library sorted by artist all of the different songs in the compilation are seperated from each other in alphabetical order.

I have selected all of these tracks and ticked compilation in the Get Info bit but they still act as described above. Is there anyway around this?

Basically, I want my iTunes library sorted by artist, but I want compilations to be an exception and sorted by album.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
 
When I use the "Compilation" checkbox it works:

Sorting by Album alphabetizes albums by name, but clicking the Album sort-header again to get Album by Artist sorts everything by artist first, and all the compilation albums are together at the end. (In neither case are compilation albums split up into individual songs.)
