Here's the setup. I have:
A Windows based gaming pc with a ATI Radion 1650 (Dual Link DVI capable) vid card.
A Mac-Mini.
An Apple 30inch Cinema Display.
I can attach the big LCD to the Windows machine and play around at the native resolution of 2560 x 1600. No problem.
I can disconnect the Windows pc, connect to the Mac-Mini, and display at a coarse 1280x800 (to be expected...I was surprised it worked at all, frankly.)
I have a Mac Pro in my shopping basket, only hemming and hawing over whether not to wait for Leopard/a New batch of Mac Pros, etc.
So anyway, the problem is, it sucks to have to unplug my cable and swap machines. A KVM switch would be great (and in fact a vga KVM was my solution back before the big LCD joined the picture.)
But DVI KVM support is really, really bad. Unless I'm missing something, every solution out there is gimped resolution wise (1600x1200... RARELY 1920x1200.) The only place I've seen the Cinema Display's native resolution supported is in the as yet unreleased Belkin Flip DVI-D.
Has anyone else here solved this problem? Am I missing something, or do I just have to suck it up and wait until Belkins solution is released...whenever?
