I've been listening to some Human Abstract thanks to a freind of mine. The genre is metal but it has a few songs where they start to go acoustic. This one (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=179567897&s=143441&i=179568409) (Sotto Voce) I like the most. It's only a minute and a half long tho :( . I CRAVE for more acoustic guitar. Is there a an awesome music artist out there who devotes their albums just to acoustic guitar? No vocals maybe a little percussion, if necessary? And not just strumming, but quick pluckin of strings.

Check out Pierre Bensusan, it's no metal, but pretty cool.

I don't know if it's what you're looking for but loads of Nick Drake stuff is stunning fingerstyle guitar. Five Leaves Left (debut album) is the most guitar centred...

Thanks for the suggestions. I liked them both, but upon further research, I found Pepe Romero. Mmmmmm, Spanish music. Just bought one of his albums and the song I like the most is this one (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=4565204&s=143441&i=4565184). Check him out.

nick drake is of course, fantastic - especially the string arrangements

i know he is slightly mainstream - but I was hooked on Jose Gonzalez's album. That's the first time I've ever been able to listen to music that is just acoustic guitar and voice on its own but I found this just hypnotising. I'm not sure if it is especially great technique though.
